Pioneers Skills Development Institute has extensive experience in the training and skills development field, the team which is spear heading the daily operations comprises of highly qualified and experienced professionals. The Managing Director who’s been entrusted with the responsibility of steering the organization and give strategic leadership to propel the organization to greater heights and overseeing the operations, governance and administration, Ms. Gift Tshifhiwa Shai has over 15 years wide-ranging relevant experience and qualifications in the training and development field, to mention but a few, she holds a BSc Degree in Computer Science from the university of Limpopo, a Post Graduate Degree in Business Administration from Wits University, Certificate in Fundamentals of Project  Management from Damelin, Principles of Business and Management – New Managers’ Programme  from Wits university, she also hold and International qualification, a Certificate in Executive Management from University of La Verne(USA). She is a qualified and registered assessor, moderator and also has a certificate in Outcomes Based Education(OBE) & Outcomes Based Assessment(OBA), a National Certificate in Occupational Directed Education  training and development Practices which is accredited by Education Training and Development practices SETA,  she’s currently doing a Master’s in Business Administration with the University of Witwatersrand Business School.

 

She has worked as a lecturer at Ekurhuleni West College, and held different positions at Health and Welfare SETA(HWSETA) and other different organizations, her dedication and hard work has seen her being crowned best employee for the quarter in 2007 and earned her a scholarship which she used to further her studies. The diverse expertise and qualifications blend in well with all the departments in the organization. Her strategic leadership has seen the organization grow from strength to strength over the years.

 

The company has different departments which cascades to sections with different functions and responsibilities and each department or subsection has its own team i.e.; The training Department, Administration and office administration department, marketing and communications department, Health and safety and compliance department and logistics department.

Below is the list, of the departments, their functions and academic background of the departmental and subsections leaders;

 

Training Department

The Training department is assigned the responsibility of planning, execution, monitoring of all the training projects. This department is under the supervision of Ms. Angelina Moagi who’s a qualified Project Manager, Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator registered with different SETAs in the country, and she has over 7 years of experience in the field. The section is also responsible for quality assurance, recruitment of project based employees/part time staff.

 

Logistics and Transportation Department

The company has since extended its scope to logistics and transportation, This department is also responsible for assets management and all the logistics in the company including support to all the departments, it also responsible for supporting the truck drivers and troubleshooting on all minor and major mechanical problems on all the trucks and company fleet and it is under the supervision of the Logistics coordinator Mr. Elliot Khoele who’s a qualified Electrical Engineer and he is supported by Cambridge Mafarafara a qualified Mechanical Engineer. Some of the success stories and achievement is that this department has seen the company increasing its fleet from one (1) truck to four (4) trucks in a space of less than a year. This team is currently having 4 experienced and professional drivers; Mr Masoma Schoeman Selala, Mr Alfheli Norman Nemutandani, Mr Malabi Joseph Maluleke, and Mr Thabang Tsietsi Phala.

 

 

Health, Safety and Compliance Department

The department is mandated to make sure that all the activities and the departments in the company conform to statutory requirements and legislations and all regulations, it also in this department wherein issues of health and safety, employees wellness are administered, the department oversee and guard all compliance issues for the safety and well-being of the employees and all the stakeholders. This department is under the stewardship of Mr. Kenneth Semono, a qualified Incident Investigator, Safety representative, Ambulance assistant and Fire fighter. Mr. Semono has expertise in the health and safety field which enables him to guide and makes sure that the company is fully compliant with safety regulations and standards in all its business undertakings.

 

Administration and Office Management Department

The  Administration and office management department which is overseen by the Managing Director with support from all the departments as this cuts across all departments, this department is responsible for support and seeing to it that all the departments and subsections runs smoothly, the subsection in this department which is, Information technology and technical service support in headed by Cambridge Mafarafara who’s a qualified mechanical engineer by profession, and is supported by Elliot Khoele who’s a qualified electrical engineer. This department is also responsible for learners’ registrations/enrollments, management and maintenance of the learners’ record database from inception to graduations as well as the provision of learning material for all the learners.

 

Marketing and Communication Department

The organization has a big number of stakeholders and has a national footprint, and always has information to be disseminated to its stakeholders and clientele, this department is assigned to market the Pioneers Skills Development Institute to continue to be a leading brand in the training and development field, to communicate using different mediums and platforms, like website development and feeding. The department is also responsible for communication strategies, events management and events branding, branding of advocacy materials and cooperate clothing, media releases and general cooperate communications in the organization. Under the leadership of Mr. Charles Mabunda a Journalist by profession with over 8 years of experience in project management and corporate communication, this section has seen to it that external and internal communication is constantly maintained and making sure that the company also upholds good stakeholder engagements and good public relations over the years.
